Caucus noodles... and Global schwarming...

The average person does not care about this. They don't even like the word Caucus.

A pet dog has a better chance of predicting the election than the corn farmers in Iowa.

What a 18th or 19th century way of doing this stuff. It's a political system that is broken. How much money is dumped into this system to get them to come out and do this ritualistic way of voting?

What does it have to do with America? Nothing.

No one cares about all this. Thus the reason they started all this crap forever ago.

They are spending something like $200/vote in this garbage.

CNN, MSLCD, and Fox News are the ones to blame at the HYPE over all this no news caucus crap.

In the meantime we have the same nuts still buying into Global Warming and the conman Albert Arnold Gore Jr. babbling on about it. The Antarctic has a thicker ice pack than history has ever recorded. All ignored.

We have RECORD snowfall in winter (like we are supposed to have) and they still go on and on about global freaking warming. SNOW FELL ON DAYTONA BEACH for God's sake!

Go tell that to those in Michigan that had 16 inches of snow on the matter of hours and can;t find their cars under the snowfall much less find the "warming". It is a scam like y2k. Don't believe this garbage. For months we heard about the Southeast and drought drought drought drought drought. All of a sudden we had rain for days... daaaaaays. Nature worked it out. It worked like we knew it would. Or at least common sense people that live life knew it did.

To think it is 2008 and we have who knows how much of this crap to put up with for the entire year.

God help us.

First off, in a chilling event I agree 100% on the Iowa Caucus.

However, in order to contrast this, I got one of my best laughs yet:

"SNOW FELL ON DAYTONA BEACH for God's sake!"

Really? Do you not understand global warming THAT much? Are you REALLY that naive? Have you even DONE any more research than reading the phrase "global warming".

"Global Warming" is a mis-leading title. Climate change is much more appropriate, drastic climate change even more so. The fact that it gets cold, doesn't contradict global warming in the slightest. The fact that irregular weather patterns are putting snow where it usually doesn't go in fact SUPPORTS it.

Global warming is surprisingly conclusive when you actually look at facts. Climate change is fairly conclusive. You can't really argue if it's happening. You can argue whether or not HUMAN'S are the cause of it. I think you're being VERY naive if you actually think humans aren't playing a role, but you could argue otherwise.

I still find it hilarious that you actually that "global warming" just meant that it'd be "Warmer". Nifty, really, could you guys be any more stereotypical hardcore christian conservatives? did you all go to jesus camp or something?

But at least Obama won. Hopefully he can pick up the momentum going into Super Tuesday and there'll at least be a race.

Huckabee also won, which... I don't like Huckabee, but I can't say with any degree of certainty whether I like him more or less than any of the other rabble on the Republican side. There's not a single candidate that I've seen on the Republican side who wouldn't make me vomit instantaneously if they won the general

I read the entire comment giving you the benefit of the doubt...yet read this last paragraph and lose all hope on it. A bit riddled with ad hominem, no?

So we can agree to disagree. You can agree with your scientist and I can agree with mine. It seemed however until just recently -- when the global warming supporters noticed the weather was not working with the hoax-- that they needed to say it wasn't just warming...it was crazy climate... and this and that. It is just too funny.

And of course my opinion.

Oh and...

Seems you could be an Obama supporter?

Want him to be the next President?

I personally definitely want him to get the nomination... but not be the next President.

wentwj,

I found myself mostly agreeing with your first comment up till your low class, immature jab at Brando (and myself). Had you refrained from that, you would have gained quite a bit of respect from me (not that you care about earning the respect of someone you don't know and probably will never meet).

Anyhow, Brando was basically using the same fallacious argument that I've seen used to support global warming. i.e. "In my region it's far warmer than it usually is this time of year, so sign the Kyoto Treaty!"

As you stated, regional weather has little to do with a global trend. It does have a small effect on the trend, but is meaningless unless other areas have similar deviations.

Also as you stated, the question is how much human activity is affecting the trend, not if the trend is occurring. The data cannot be denied-it is how the data is interpreted that is in question.

Cheers

Fair enough. While my goal is not to outright make me people hate me, it is neither my goal to make some internet community respect me. I have, as of late, become admittedly quite less tolerant of religion. Where I once admitted that only extremist religion was a problem, I now see the entire notion of believing something on "faith" to be idiotic and ultimately the most dangerous human quality. Now, this is not to say that everyone that has "faith" is morons. There are still a VAST majority of religious people who have "faith" and yet treat it responsibly, not outright ignoring facts when they conflict with this faith. It is however, ultimately this capacity of "faith" that calls people to believe in something without evidence. And even if not abused, this quality is still dangerous. However I digress, and I'm sure, make no fans with this paragraph.

However, I will concede quite readily that the whole "jesus camp" thing was entirely out of line and certainly degraded from the post. It was not a reasoned attack on anything, and only had a marginal tie to the original content AT BEST.

However, I still think a large point is being missed about global warming. "Global warming" more acuratly is warming on very localized scales, which in turn disrupt established weather patterns. The fact that it snowed in datytona, for example, is not evidence AGAINST global warming, but evidence that our weather IS being disrupted.

The oceans however, ARE quantifiably warming. This is one of the scary aspects of global warming, as it causes ice caps to melt, which... in turn causes water to heat up quicker... which.. in turn causes ice caps to melt, ect. Not to mention that hurricanes are fed by warm waters in the ocean.

"So we can agree to disagree. You can agree with your scientist and I can agree with mine. Nope, the public at large, and specifically those who disagree with "global warming" simply don't understand it. And the average temperature is certainly increasing. Go back and look at the "hottest years" ever recorded, you'll note that each year tends to be hotter than the last. The point however, is that global warming doesn't suggest some uniformed "it gets warmer everywhere" type of thing.

In addition to my previous post, I feel the need to clarify the "less tolerant of religion in general". I mean this in an entirely personal nature. I have no desire to see any laws outlawing religion, or anything even approaching that. I do however, have a desire to see religion separated from the government and public life, and to not see laws enacted do to religious bias. I think what someone does in their own time is their own business, so long as it doesn't break other laws. Whether that be having gay sex or worshiping Vishnu, Jesus, Satan, or some other deity I do not care. I only care when these things are enforced on the public.

I like how Gore says waters would rise if the caps melt.

I always thought the easiest example is ice melting in a glass of water. The water never rises. It's the same as when the ice was still frozen and floating.

Silly Albert Arnold.
