What?
Putin is the person of the year? Why? "For bringing stability and renewed status to his country"
What about the stability to the middle east he is bringing? Supplying nuclear material to Iran. Yet Bush sits back, chuckles, and says; "If the Russians are willing to do that, which I support, then the Iranians do not need to learn how to enrich," Bush said. "If the Iranians accept that uranium for a civilian nuclear power plant, then there's no need for them to learn how to enrich." My God in heaven.
Time, not thinking it was possible-- you have hit a new low.
The runner-ups were also unbelievably laughable. Al Gore, J.K. Rolling, Hu Jintao (The Chi-coms fearless leader.)

1. A con artist using Global Warming for personal gain (carbon credits, movies, speeches--while growing his enormous "foot-print" on the earth)
2. An Author (who I guess didn't make a satisfactory amount of billions--trying to sell more to a select part of the populous) and took one of her characters and threw him/her out of the closet.
3. The great Communist riddled Hu Jintao. Why leave a communist leader out of it all? Can't do that!
Wow.
Just wow.
I ask. Why does the "mainstream" have no problem reporting the worst of news they could find out of Iraq? Yet when everything turns around and goes in the direction every patriotic American would want..they ignore..they ignore the leading General on the battlefield and do their best to lower his credibility when he is at home--and then put Putin on the top as person of the year? My God.
Very classy you schmucks!

The media clearly remains fascinated with Communism. Fascinated with the KGB. Fascinated with the old concept of the Soviet Union.
Personally I think gay wizards are the cause of global warming... but thats just me.
heh.
On a more serious note, I think you misunderstood exactly what Time's "Man of the Year" is. They don't pick the BEST person of the year (I believe stalin and castro have won in the past). They pick who they think had the largest IMPACT on the year, good or bad.
With that said, I still don't think Putin was the man of the year.
Anyway, happy winter solstice.
Merry Christmas to you too! :)
I pointed out that they didn't stress "largest impact" but said it was..."For bringing stability and renewed status to his country"...
And I agree. Despite if we agree on who should have it, we know Putin shouldn't.
